Pronunciation
A basic pose. The most popular and identifiable pose in ballet. A multi-faceted pose on one leg, with arms and legs extended. Controversial in terms of arms, shoulders and hips. There are four Russian arabesque and a third (Cecchetti) arabesque that everyone uses. Simple first arabesque starts with 5-year olds and gets better and better. Everyone loves to do arabesque. First Arabesque is the most popular.
