Can be used to describe a step or a position. A cutting step. A small intermediary step done as a preparation for some other step. The pointed foot is placed in front of the supporting ankle or behind. A step in which the supporting foot is replaced by the working foot. Coupé can also be used to describe the position of the foot -- either front or back of the ankle with the toes pointed. Coupé back then Assemblé back. Other side, then reverse.
