Jeté petit 1
(zheh-tay-p'tee)
Pronunciation
A basic step. A small throw. A brush jump step. This is a basic step and a versatile step. It can be done many ways. Forward, backward and with or without beats. From fifth, brush back leg to the side into the air, about 45°, land on the brush leg in demi-plié while the front leg straightens and points and lands coupé back. The leg that brushes determines the rounded arm in front. A very, very important step to learn. Beginners should only do the Jeté using the back foot coming forward.
