Tendu 2
One of the most important barre steps. Means to stretch. One of the seven movements of dancing. From fifth, guide the working foot to an open position, front, side or back and return to the closed position fifth or first in the same manner. Can be done with a demi-plié. Teaches you to point your feet. Heel must be kept front or turned out. A very important step. This step done right can separate a good dancer from a bad dancer. This step can also be done with a rélevé leaving your toe in place and changing your body center as your heel goes down. There are other versions. In the front and back Tendu, the working toe is in line with the arch of the supporting foot, not the heel of the supporting foot. Tendu with temps lié and arms.
